Uganda is a landlocked country in East Africa bordered on the west by Congo, on the north by the Sudan, on the east by Kenya and on the south by Tanzania and Rwanda.

Uganda’s diverse landscape encompasses the snow-capped Rwenzori Mountains, immense Lake Victoria and Murchison Falls National Park in the northwest known for its 43m-tall waterfall.

Uganda is home to some incredible wildlife and most notably to the almost extinct endangered mountain gorillas of which there are only 750 left in the world and they can only be found between Bwindi National Park in Uganda, Parc de volcanoes National park in Rwanda, and Virunga in Congo.  In addition to mountain gorillas, the country’s abundant wildlife includes hippos, chimpanzees and over 1000 species of birds.

Uganda’s climate is tropical with an average temperature of 28 degrees Celsius.  There are two dry seasons December – February and June – August.

Pan fried grasshoppers are a favorite treat in Uganda – delicious!
